Annual ANZAC
Youth Leadership  Award

The aim of the ANZAC Youth Leadership Award is to inspire, encourage and reward quality youth leadership in schools and youth organisations (includes Girl Guides, Air Force and Army Cadets) within the Renmark Paringa District Council.

The youth leadership qualities that we look for are:

  • A sense of egalitarianism.
  • A non-discriminatory attitude towards others with respect to race, gender, ethnicity, nationality and religion.
  • A strong belief in fair play and a fair go.
  • A friendly and outgoing personality.
  • A strong sense of mateship and caring for others.
  • A healthy scepticism, a touch of larrikin and a good sense of humour.
  • The capacity to not take themselves seriously.

The award consists of a monetary prize and a letter of commendation for the winner.

The winners are chosen by each organisation themselves, through observations made throughout the year.

Presentation of the award is done by a member of the RSL at a time to be advised of by the specific organisation.

MEETINGS

General Meeting, 31st of March, 2026

The general meeting for March will be a visit to the Frank Harding Gallery at 31 Murtho St in Renmark. The gallery will be open for sub branch members and guests, with an admission fee of $8 (cash) at the door.

If you haven’t been to the gallery before, it has an amazing WW2 Warbirds room with paintings that have been signed in some cases by the pilot of the aircraft depicted. This is definitely a highlight.

Members are requested to meet at the gallery at 5.30pm.

Following the visit to the gallery, the intent is for members to return to Renmark Hotel for our usual dinner in the Sportsmans Bar.
